DIMAKID Firm Mats and Surfaces – An Essential Foundation for Motor Skills Spaces
DIMAKID firm mats and surfaces are a fundamental element in setting up spaces dedicated to early learning, play, and motor development for young children. Designed to support the first bodily explorations, they provide stable and reassuring support during movement, balance work, and everyday motor activities. Whether in nurseries, preschools, motor skills rooms or early childhood spaces, they fully contribute to children’s psychomotor development while ensuring a safe and suitable environment.
DIMAKID is the early childhood brand of the French manufacturer Dimasport. With nearly 60 years of expertise, the brand designs and manufactures high-quality motor skills equipment, relying on recognized know-how and strict control over each stage of production. All DIMAKID mats are made in France, in our workshops located in Ozoir-la-Ferrière (Seine-et-Marne), ensuring long-lasting quality and full control over the materials used.
A stable and safe surface for early learning and motor development
DIMAKID firm mats are particularly well suited for children discovering their first motor sensations: rolling over, crawling, pushing up on their arms, pulling themselves up, walking, jumping from small heights, or taking part in guided motor skill activities. Thanks to their dense and uniform foam, they provide enough support to promote balance, coordination, and motor initiative.
This stability is essential to encourage young children to move freely, test their abilities and gain confidence, all within a perfectly safe environment. Their role is central in setting up structured, calm or dynamic spaces designed to foster autonomy and the discovery of movement.
The DIMAKID quality: demanding French manufacturing
Each DIMAKID mat meets the high manufacturing standards of Dimasport:
- dense and controlled foam, selected for long-lasting performance;
- cover treated M2 Fire Retardant and phthalate-free;
- DIMAKID firm mats are made with an average of 70% recycled polyethylene foam, combining performance with environmental responsibility. Polyethylene foam is dense, lightweight, and highly dynamic.
- anti-slip underside for optimal traction;
- reinforced stitching to withstand intensive collective use;
- safe materials suitable for early childhood;
- easy cleaning with a simple sponge and mild soap.
These features comply with current French and European standards for motor skills equipment intended for children.
Ideal for nurseries, schools, and early childhood facilities
DIMAKID firm mats are especially appreciated in educational and collective environments. Their robustness allows for daily use without loss of comfort or structural integrity. They are perfectly suited for:
- free play areas;
- psychomotor pathways;
- baby activity platforms;
- guided motor skill workshops;
- transition areas between several modules;
- rooms hosting a large number of children.
Their ease of maintenance, durability, and long lifespan make them perfectly suited to demanding professional use.
Full compatibility with the DIMAKID universe
Firm mats can be combined with all DIMAKID modules to create varied and evolving motor skill setups:
- steps, blocks, bridges, and wedges;
- pedagogical modules;
- sensory or balance elements;
- larger movement and activity areas.
This modularity allows professionals to adapt motor environments to children’s ages, needs, and learning goals while regularly renewing play and activity possibilities.

Firm mats help create a trustworthy environment where children can safely experiment and where professionals can conduct varied workshops without technical constraints.
Endless setup possibilities
